I’m taking millions of dollars US. That’s a guilty mind in my opinion.

FYI I was semi-retired in 2020, having a small number of biotech companies as consulting clients. They dropped me by summer 2020. I would not accept a commission of any kind to this industry now. Though by no means are all scientists corrupt, in fact, to the contrary. I encountered fraud only twice in my career and they were low level and minor compared with the criminality involved here. I suspect a low proportion of my peers were willing to do unspeakable things and were promoted. Some of those ended up very senior, well paid and some of them enobled. Nevertheless, the source of biotech financing is in my mind now indelibly connected with the criminal enterprise you’ve laid out. I don’t feel proud of my career accomplishments any more, despite doing my best and I think achieving some good. It would be like claiming parts of a totalitarian regime was alright really.
